Internationally acclaimed dance company Bodystories: Teresa Fellion Dance will be instructing our campers in the art of dance this summer! Students learn contemporary techniques, improvisation, composition, partnering, and approaches to performance under professional guidance. Students explore a variety of dance techniques and styles throughout the summer. Each weeklong session concludes with a Friday performance.
For the weeks 7 and 8, campers with at least 2-3 years or more of prior dance experience and age 10 and above, (age 9 upon exception) can enjoy this two-week dance intensive. The classes develop technique in contemporary, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and other available styles based on student-interest. The classes also help the dancers identify their unique creativity through composition workshops and movement explorations. Dancers will learn choreography and develop their own dances under individualized instruction and mentorship. Their work will be presented in a final showing at the end of the intensive.
“Teresa Fellion’s choreography is like a car engine of movement; transference of energy that is constantly remolded/shifted, and brings us to a beautiful place.” —Celeste Miller, Jacob’s Pillow International Dance Festival
Campers play cover songs from famous rock groups on the instrument of their choice. A component of this major includes learning music composition and songwriting. Campers have the opportunity to show off their newfound musical skills during a live performance in front of an audience at the end of each two-week session.
This major requires a minimum two-week commitment starting week 1, 3, 5, or 7. Please make sure to choose the appropriate consecutive week (2, 4, 6, or 8) to complete the session.
Aspiring thespians will develop their personal voice through theater arts under the tutelage of professional actors. Workshops include role-play through improvisational games, scene study, monologues, and ensemble work. This year we are offering workshops in Theater and Musical Theater. Each program culminates in a theater production. Campers participate in all levels of production, including costumes, props, and scenery, as well as the important roles of stage manager, stage crew, lighting and sound design, and makeup application.
